Big Sandy Creek Bass Club and The Arc of the Capital
Area close the books on another successful year. 145 anglers
fished the event this year with $9,800.00 paid out to the winners.
Thanks again to all the sponsors and participants that enabled us to
contribute $7,100.00 directly to The Arc of the Capital Area. The
continued support from our sponsors and participants has enabled us to
contribute $28,200.00 to the Arc since we started this tournament in
2002.
For the second year in a row, we were blessed with
beautiful weather. The day started with the temperature in the
high 40's, clear skies, and calm winds. The day ended with the
temperature topping out in the 60's, clear skies, and calm winds.
Pro bass fisherman Jimmy Houston was on hand again to entertain all who
attended the event.
Terry
Oldham takes the top spot this year with his 8.63 big bass weighed in
during the fifth hour of the tournament. In addition to Terry's
winnings, he'll also receive a free replica from Joe's Custom Fish
Mounts.
As
the relationship between Big Sandy Creek Bass Club and The Arc of the
Capital Area strengthens, so does the event. The KIDFISH tank
continues to be the main attraction for the Arc clients, but this year
the Arc and their strong volunteer base, added a mini carnival as
another avenue for the Arc clients to enjoy themselves at the event.
Those who attended enjoyed activities such as games, face painting, and
numerous other activities.
Again,
none of this would not be possible without the continued support from
our sponsors. BSCBC would like to thank Arnold Oil, A-Line Auto
Parts, and AC Delco for arranging the appearance of Jimmy Houston and
helping out with the KIDFISH event. Trek for sponsoring the
KIDFISH tank and TPWD for supplying the catfish. Joe's Custom Fish
Mounts for supplying the free replica to the tournament winner.
The hot food and cold drinks were provided by HEB, Brown Distributing,
and Oak Farms Dairy. Our major sponsors for the hourly and overall
payouts include Pro's Choice Lures, Bedford Plumbing, Sportsman's
Warehouse, Capitol Bearing Service, Parks Engine Service, H.L. Chapman
Pipeline Construction, Hudgins Environmental, Aus-Tex PCS, Academy
Sports & Outdoors, Austin Bolt Co., RDO Equipment, Allied Sales Company
of Austin, J.W. Ramsey Company, The Sollami Company, Rush Truck Center,
Romco Equipment Company, and Hydraulic Specialists. And of course,
our participants who continue to make this tournament a success.
We hope to see everyone again next year for the 2007 Bass Roundup.
